How the PTE Core question bank works
The PTE Core exam is made of three parts and around twenty distinct question types. Each type has its own timing, its own scoring criteria, and its own set of traps, so practising them individually is usually more productive than repeating full mock exams.
This question bank groups every type by skill: Speaking and Writing in Part 1, Reading in Part 2, and Listening in Part 3. Pick a type, answer under exam timing, and get scored immediately. Speaking and Writing go to the AI grader, which returns criterion-level feedback and a Canadian Language Benchmark estimate. Reading and Listening are marked against the answer key with rationales explaining why each option was right or wrong.
Every attempt is stored in your history, so you can watch a question type improve over weeks rather than guessing. The study guides below explain the strategy for each type in detail.
Which question types does the PTE Core question bank cover?
Every type on the real exam. Speaking covers Personal Introduction, Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Respond to a Situation and Answer Short Question. Writing covers Summarize Written Text and Write Email. Reading covers Reading and Writing Fill in the Blanks, Multiple Choice single and multiple answers, Re-order Paragraphs and Reading Fill in the Blanks. Listening covers Summarize Spoken Text, Multiple Choice single and multiple answers, Listening Fill in the Blanks, Highlight Incorrect Words, Select Missing Word and Write from Dictation.
Can I practise one question type at a time?
Yes. The question bank is organised by skill and then by question type, so you can drill Repeat Sentence or Write from Dictation on its own rather than sitting a full two-hour mock exam. This is the fastest way to turn a specific weakness into a strength.
How much of the question bank is free?
You get 1 free practice question in every part of the question bank, so you can try each question type and see how the AI scoring works before deciding to upgrade. No credit card is needed.
Do I get feedback on Speaking and Writing answers?
Yes. Speaking answers are recorded and scored on pronunciation, fluency, content and task fulfillment. Writing answers are scored on task fulfillment, coherence, vocabulary and grammar. Both return written feedback and a CLB estimate within seconds, and model answers are available for comparison.
How many questions are in the bank?
The bank holds thousands of PTE Core style questions across the four skills, and questions are added over time. Your attempt history is saved, so you can revisit a question and compare a new answer against your earlier one.
