Frequently asked questions
Which scores do I enter in the calculator?
Enter the four skill scores from your PTE Core score report: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, each on the 10 to 90 scale. Leave out your overall score, because it is not part of the CLB conversion.
How does the calculator check the Express Entry and citizenship minimums?
It converts each skill to a CLB level on its own, then checks every required skill against the minimum. For Express Entry it checks CLB 7 in all four skills, the Federal Skilled Worker Program minimum. For citizenship it checks CLB 4 in Listening and Speaking. One skill below the minimum is enough to miss it.
Can I use the calculator with practice test scores?
Yes. Enter the skill scores from a practice test to see which CLB level they would convert to. Only your official PTE Core result counts for an application, and IRCC's website is the authority on current requirements.
